Marijampole University of Applied Sciences is the only higher education institution in the Sūdava region. It is a creative, open, modern centre of culture and science in Southern Lithuania, linked by international relations to the world’s scientific, study and business community, providing an attractive and high-quality study environment where students can acquire and develop the knowledge and skills necessary for their country, Europe and the global world. Since 2008, we have been participating in the Erasmus+ programme, and during this time we have established new links with higher education institutions abroad, which has given our students and staff the flexibility to try out studies, internships, and not only academic but also a diverse multicultural experience.
In the next stages, thanks to the Erasmus+ programme, Marijampole University of Applied Sciences will meet the main challenges of internationalisation and modernisation of the institution in order to contribute to the objectives of the European Education Area. In this way, we will increase the attractiveness of European higher education, offer students and staff the opportunity to study and/or gain professional experience in another country, promote language learning and linguistic diversity (we offer courses in English), develop initiatives in one or more areas of educational training and foster innovation, exchange of experience and knowledge through cooperation with partner countries involved in education and training or other related fields.
We aim to:
- Continuously improve the quality of studies and services by improving existing programmes, developing new ones and focusing on the needs of the labour market and applicants.
- To be an open and trusted partner of local, national and global business, cultural and social institutions.
- Improve learning outcomes (knowledge, skills and competences) to foster personal development, active civic engagement and students’ employability in the European labour market and beyond.
- Supporting the professional development of those working in education and training, in order to innovate and improve the quality of teaching, learning and training across Europe.
- Continuous improvement of the content and process of studies in the light of innovation, in cooperation with social partners, and by developing internationalisation.
- Improve participants’ foreign language skills.
- To improve participants’ awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, enabling them to network across borders, to participate actively in society and to develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.
- Increase the capacity, attractiveness and international dimension of our education, training and training organisation, so that we can offer activities and programmes that better meet the needs of individuals in Europe and beyond.
- Ensure better recognition of competences acquired during training periods abroad.
- Promote environmentally friendly practices.
Erasmus+ will allow us to work together with stakeholders from other countries to innovate and modernise teaching and learning practices, helping to ensure that students get the skills they need to succeed in today’s world. We will be able to share best practice, innovate and work together to help improve provision, promote growth and create jobs.
Inclusive education, shared values and culture are seen as engines for jobs, economic growth and better social cohesion, as well as a means to experience a pan-European identity. Bilingual competence in two languages in addition to the mother tongue and digital competences will be acquired through this programme. We will have knowledge alliances between higher education institutions and enterprises, promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, creativity, employability, knowledge exchange and/or multidisciplinary teaching and learning,
