Please be informed that the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania of 21 February 2024 No. 138 “On Approval of the Reorganisation of the Public Institution Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education by Means of Amalgamation with the Public Institution Mykolas Romeris University” (hereafter referred to as the “Resolution”) approves the reorganisation of the Public Institution Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education by means of merger by means of amalgamation with the Public Institution Mykolas Romeris University.
The aim of the reorganisation is to preserve higher education studies in the Marijampolė region, to facilitate the improvement of the quality of studies and research activities and their correspondence to the needs of the city and the region’s society and the labour market, and to reorganise the Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education by means of a merger, by merging it into the Mykolas Romeris University and by establishing a division of Mykolas Romeris University in Marijampolė.
Method of reorganisation – Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education shall be reorganised by merger with Mykolas Romeris University.
The institution to be reorganised – Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education, public institution, legal entity code – 211967140, registered office address – Marijampolė, P. Armino st. 92-4, the data on the legal entity shall be collected and kept in the Register of Legal Entities of the Republic of Lithuania.
The institution participating in the reorganisation is Mykolas Romeris University, public institution, legal entity code – 111951726, registered office address – Vilnius, Ateities st. 20, data on the legal entity shall be collected and stored in the Register of Legal Entities of the Republic of Lithuania.
The legal entity that will cease to exist is Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education, which will cease to exist upon its deregistration from the Register of Legal Entities of the Republic of Lithuania.
The institution that will operate after the reorganisation is Mykolas Romeris University.
The reorganisation of Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education will be formalised from 1 October 2024. A new faculty of Mykolas Romeris University – Sūduva Academy – will be established in Marijampolė as a branch.
The institution exercising the rights and duties of the owner of Mykolas Romeris University, which will operate after the reorganisation, is the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania.
15 April 2024 The terms and conditions of the reorganisation of the public institution Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education by merger with the public institution Mykolas Romeris University (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms and Conditions of the Reorganisation”) have been approved by the Resolution of the Council of the Marijampolė Institution of Higher Education No KT-4. Pursuant to Article 2.99(2) and Article 2.101(1) of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania, we hereby make public the Terms and Conditions of the Reorganisation (the Terms and Conditions can be found here).
