Thirty students from grades 1-4 were busy at the Marijampolė STEAM Centre last week during the five-day camp “Summer with STEAM”, and this Thursday (27 June) we will be inviting students from grades 5-10 to register.
During the camp, the students improved their problem-solving and research, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and social-emotional competencies by doing various activities in the centre’s labs. In addition to developing their STEAM skills, the students also made new friendships. Each camper was presented with a STEAM camp diploma and a medal to symbolize the successful completion of the STEAM challenge.
Participants and their parents enjoyed the camp programme and the STEAM Centre’s activities, as the children were full of excitement and new knowledge every day. This camp showed that young people in Marijampolė are very creative and interested in science and technology from the first grade. As a result, we hope that this experience will inspire students to excel in school and to choose STEAM-related careers in the future.
We thank Marijampolė Municipality for the fellowship and the opportunity for the third year in a row to make it possible for schoolchildren in Marijampolė district to experience STEAM education during the summer and to spend a week of their vacation in a fun way.
